Iridium Extreme 9575 - How-to Guides

The Iridium Extreme 9575 is a tough, rugged handset that offers more features and more accessories than any other satellite phone on the market.

Here's how to use the device so you can stay connected anywhere on the planet, regardless of the conditions.

Insert your SIM card if necessary, and hold the On/Off button for five seconds.

When the phone has switched on, the screen will display a short animated sequence. If the SIM is valid, the phone will begin searching for the network and display Registered when it has connected to the network.

To switch the device off, hold the same On/Off button until the screen turns off.

In order for your phone to connect to the satellite network you must have a clear, direct view of the sky with the antenna extended and pointing upwards, holding the phone like you would any other phone.

The screen will display Searching for Iridium… followed by Registered when the connection is complete.

When your phone is connected to the network and the antenna extended upwards, you can make and receive calls from anywhere in the world.

When dialing a number, simply enter the phone number in international format and press the green key. When your phone’s antenna is fully extended, the screen will then display Calling followed by the number you dialed. To end the call press the red key, and to re-dial the last number called press the green key twice.

To receive a call your phone must be connected to the network. In order to answer the call, the antenna must be fully extended – this is indicated by two lines at the base of the antenna which must be visible.

You can then select Accept above the left soft key, or Reject above the right soft key.
