CellhireConnect secure mobile data in situations in which a natural disaster has brought down the Cellular networks destroying the communication network.

Overview:

When natural disasters occur such as Hurricanes, Tornados and Floods, often mobile communication infrastructure in an area goes off-line. In many of these cases, the only option is a satellite device that operates independently of terrestrial communications infrastructure.

Approach:

Cellhire manages thousands of satellite devices across its fleet, from handheld voice units to high-speed BGAN data terminals. Cellhire is able to deploy these solutions quickly via overnight or same day courier. Cellhire developed customized programs for our first responder clients with various solution models:

  1. Weekly or monthly rentals of voice or voice and data solutions.
  2. Purchase equipment with monthly service plans.
  3. Seasonal rentals for Hurricane season- this allows the devices to be located with the customer to avoid any delivery delays during a disaster.

Results:

Many First Responders are not familiar with the satellite technologies available in the marketplace. Cellhire's 20 years of experience in the mobile satellite communications space, coupled with its relationships with the two leading global satellite networks, make the company the ideal partner for understanding and meeting the needs of First Responders. Cellhire is able to maintain a large rental device infrastructure, quickly moving inventory from the company’s international locations to its US facility to support Hurricane seasonality. Cellhire provides options for equipment trials and rent-to-own solutions to allow customers without experience in this space to gain experience before making large investments in the technology.
